Annual Graduation Reception 2008
The Boston University Metropolitan College Department of College will be hosting its annual graduation reception this year on Sunday, May 18th. Location: Dance Theatre (915 Commonwealth Ave, Buick St. Entrance). 3:00 pm - 5:00 pm.       

New Class in Open Source Development Class Scheduled to Run Summer 2008
Prereq: MET CS 673 or equivalent. Builds on previous design and programming courses and introduces students to the technological, social, and pragmatic aspects of developing open source software through direct involvement in an open source project. Students learn to use the tools, techniques, and strategies of open source developers. They become familiar with the open source movement, its philosophy, history and licensing issues. This is a project-based laboratory course. Students are directly involved with and integrated into an open source project. They are expected to be active participants in the project and contribute to the project in various ways.

11.22 What is Your Degree Worth?
Those graduating with a degree in computer science are seeing heartier increases. According to NACE, information sciences and systems grads earn $42,375 a year on average. That's up 10.7 percent from a year earlier. Meanwhile, computer science graduates make $49,036 a year, a gain of 4.1 percent.
