Meet Professor Lubomir T. Chitkushev
B.S., M.S.E., M.S., Ph.D.
Associate Professor, Department of Computer Science

Dr. Lubomir Citkusev, Faculty Coordinator for the International Diploma Program in Computer Information Systems and Global Networks is an international expert in telecommunication and telemedicine bringing extensive experience to BU in a number of areas, including a special focus on Internet traffic engineering and performance analysis of Next Generation Networks.

Dr. Lubomir T. Chitkushev, associate professor and head of the graduate program in Telecommunication for Boston University Metropolitan College's Department of Computer Science, is an international expert in telecommunication and telemedicine. He brings extensive experience to BU in a number of areas, including a special focus on Internet traffic engineering and performance analysis of Next Generation Networks.

Prior to joining Boston University, Dr. Chitkushev was Senior Technology Consultant and Research Scientist at Bell Communication Research (Bellcore), now Telcordia Technologies, where he was a member of the IP-Optical Network Architecture Research Lab at Applied Research Department.

As faculty coordinator for the Diploma program, Chitkushev stresses the importance of keeping in step with current technologies. "In order to stay competitive locally, one has to become competitive globally," states Chitkushev. "This international program has been designed to do just that."

Dr. Chitkushev's position at MET marks his return to Boston University where he received his Ph.D. from BU's College of Engineering. He received his M.S. at the Medical College of Virginia, and his M.S.E. and B.S. at the University of Belgrade in Yugoslavia.
