Purpose
The Enterprise Java Lab will offer a one place solution for developing and running enterprise applications. Students will be able to download the software onto their home computers, or work directly on the server via remote desktop connections. Students enrolled in the respective courses will be given accounts and their personal workspace to develop and test the applications.

The Enterprise Java Lab enables our students to engage in the development of various projects, such as:

        • Building standard Java applications
        • Network Design
        • Developing enterprise applications and deploying under Tomcat servlet container and
           JBoss Application Server
        • Build, test, and deploy Web Services
        •Develop applications using J2EE security API features

In addition to the above, the lab will feature various examples and detailed instructions for students.
Design

The MET CS Enterprise Java Lab is hosted on a Windows 2000 server machine. Students can work directly on the server machine using remote desktop connections.

Software
The various software applications that are installed on the server are listed at the following location (http://csmet.bu.edu/lab_enterprise_java_software). The tutorial to run enterprise applications is also available at the above site.
