Downloads

For detailed instructions on how to download your software please see the download instructions.

You can download a program two times, to request additional downloads email MSDNAA@BU.EDU.

Your software will remain functional after you graduate. However, your MSDNAA account will be deleted and you will not be able to download new software or request new keys.

Most of the software you download is a CD or DVD image files with the extension ISO. These files need to be burned to a disk specifically as an image, instead of a 'data' disk, which will extract the ISO into the required setup files.

A free disk burning program, Active@ ISO Burner, is available by NTFS.com.
Click Here to download Active@ ISO Burner. Click Here for additional instructions.

You can also use virtual cd/dvd mounting software like this one.

License Keys

It is not necessary to download software to view your key. When you choose a program, before downloading it, you will be shown the key which was generated for you.

Your key is valid for one installation of the software. To re-install the software, please send your request to MSDNAA@BU.EDU

Software 'downloads' that require a product key, serial number, activation code, or authorization code for installation, can be found by logging into the MET MSDNAA software site, and clicking on the 'My Software' link found on the left side of the page.

Student Accounts

To request accounts for your students, please email the list of students to MSDNAA@BU.EDU including preferred students email accounts before the course starts or during the first week of class.

All student accounts are created within 24 hrs and login information emailed to all students automatically to email accounts provided in the class list. If any of the students didn’t receive the login information within 24 hrs of your request, they should email MSDNAA@BU.EDU with the first-last name and the course number. Once we receive the request from the student, the account will be manually reset and notification send to the student from one of the IT team members within 24 hrs.

NOTE: The most common reasons for students not to get the login credentials are:

  • Students don’t use BU email accounts provided in the class list;
  • Email forwarding for BU accounts is not configured properly;
  • Emails with login information come from e-academy@Microsoft and filtered as SPAM;
